Debuted in 2015, The MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual was developed together with a Northen Irish watchmaker, Stephen McDonell, a former instructor at WOSTEP.
The Legacy Machine Perpetual is not only impressive visually by implementing open dial that shows off the gears and mechanism underneath but also innovative and designed to be frill free with some safety features that eliminate risk of damage for setting the calendar while the date is changing.
Measuring at 44mm with 17.5mm thickness, this version is in stunning 18K yellow gold with bright blue dial, is made as a limited edition of 25 pieces. The case features refined contrasting brushed and polished finish.
The center of the dial has the iconic balance wheel floating above the center of the dial. It is surrounded by four lacquered dials showing the time, date, day and month. It also has a retrograde leap-year indicator at 7 and power reserve indicator at 5. Each and every function can be independently adjusted by pressing the corrector on the side of the case.
The reverse side showcases the fully integrated manual-winding perpetual calendar movement designed by Stephen McDonell. The double barrel that can be seen at the back provides the movement with 72 hours power reserve. And the finish is gorgeously hand finished, as it is with other MB&F timepieces, with internal beveling, polished angles, large gold chains, and Geneva stripes on the bridges.
