Cartier Tortue, first launched in 1912, was the third wristwatch ever designed by Cartier predating the iconic Tank. It was inspired by the shape of a tortoise shell. Amongst the most renowned Tortue is the Tortue monopusher chronograph that is well beloved not only by the loyal follower of the brand but also watch enthusiast for its impressive and iconic movement made by three of now the greatest independent watchmaker of our time.
The reference 2763, is a part of the CPCP collection from the late 1990s to early 2000s. It is a time only with an Extra Large case in 18K Rose Gold measuring 38x48mm. The dial is signed “Cartier Paris” with the distinctive guilloche dial and rosette pattern at the center with printed black Roman numerals and minute track and its paired with blue Breguet style hands.
The Tortue XL is powered by the Cal. 9601MC hand wound developed by Jaeger LeCoultre for Cartier decorated with Cartier’s “Double C” logo all over the bridges.
