Parmigiani Fleurier was established in 1996 by Michel Parmigiani. Prior to this he run an independent restoration workshop, that over the years have restored many important and historical clocks and watches as well as became the training ground of some of the most important independent watchmakers today.
The Toric, the earliest line of Pargmigiani’s wristwatch, is heavily influenced by Abraham-Louis Breguet and classical architecture, the double stepped bezels are distinctively decorated with knurling around it. The very first piece was the Memory Time with a second timezone display at 12.
This Toric Automatic has a simple black dial with silver chapter ring around the hour markers and date aperture at 3. It has a javelin shaped hour and minute hands and a blued central sweeping second hand. And this early example comes with the earlier date wheel with its cursive font.
The distinct case measures at a contemporary 40mm diameter crafted in 18K White Gold with a slim profile.
Powering the Toric Automatic is the Cal. 13301 with 38 hours power reserve and date function. It was finished and decorated to the highest standard with Geneva Stripes on the baseplate and guilloched 22K gold rotor with a “PF” signature on it.
