In 1991, Jaeger LeCoultre celebrated Reverso’s 60th anniversary by relaunching the Reverso line and adding complications for Reverso for the first time. And in 1996, Jaeger LeCoultre introduced the Reverso Chronograph, powered by the Cal. 829. Despite not being talked about often, it was the first column-wheel manually wound chronograph developed post quartz crisis, 3 years before Lange introduced the Datograph. It has a unique feature, that is a retrograde 30 minute chronograph counter.
The new Reverso Tribute Chronograph was debuted in 2023 with a contemporary Reverso size of 30mm x 49.4mm. This example here comes in Stainless Steel with a sleek blue-grey dial with sunburst finish with dauphine hands.
On the flip side, it showcases the chronograph side of the dial, skeletonised to show the new Cal. 860 that resembles the Cal. 829. The main counter displays the chronograph second hand as well as showing the time. And at the bottom it still retain the retrograde 30 minute chronograph counter. The column wheel can be seen at 7 o’clock giving us a glimpse of how the chronograph function is engaged.
