Chopard first introduced the L.U.C. 1860 in 1997, it was an homage to the founder of the brand, Louis-Ulysse Chopard. The L.U.C. 1860 is powered by the legendary Cal. 1.96 automatic movement with micro-rotor, that was developed with the help of Michel Parmigiani, manufactured in-house and certified to the highest standard.
In 2023, Chopard reintroduced the L.U.C. 1860 with some updates. And this exclusive 50 piece Revolution Edition was introduced one year after. This new generation L.U.C. 1860 is now made in the sustainable Lucent Steel with 36.5mm diameter with 8mm thickness.
Dial has always been one of the most attractive feature of the L.U.C. 1860, it is made by Metalem from a pure and untreated gold. It has a beautiful guilloche center radiating from the Chopard branding on the dial. Another big difference is the lack of date window at 6, giving it a cleaner overall look.
Powering the L.U.C. 1860 is the new Cal. 96.40-L self-winding which is very similar to the original Cal. 1.96 with addition of hacking second function. It is COSC and Geneva Seal certified ensuring the highest standard in time-keeping and finish of the movement.
