The Breguet Tradition was first introduced in 2005, paying tribute to the founder of the manufacture, Abraham Louis Breguet's "Souscription" pocket watches from the 18th century. It showcases the component of the movement from the front with a small dial displaying the time. Over the years Breguet has came out with different complication and iteration of the Tradition.
The reference 7047 was first released in 2007, and it measures at a contemporary 41mm diameter with 16mm thickness in 18K Yellow Gold. The thickness is contributed mostly by the heavily domed sapphire crystal that gives the watch a stunning visual.
It features a large tourbillon, invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet, making it highly appropriate complication in this timepiece. As we all know Tourbillon is made to counter the effect of gravity on the balance wheel and escapement by putting them in a rotating cage.
It also features a Chain-Fusee mechanism, to ensure that the movement always receives a constant amount of force from the mainspring barrel.
This Cal. 569 powering this Breguet has a frosted yellow gold finish on its bridges giving the vibe of the vintage Breguet pocket watch.
