The Breguet Type 20 was originally designed as military issued pilot watches in the 1950s. The watches were delivered and used by the French Air Force between 1955 to 1960. And Breguet also produced a civilian version called the Type XX.

Introduced in 1994, the reference 3800ST was the first homage to Breguet’s iconic pilot watch. It features a 39.5mm diameter with a 15mm thick case and with a nice touch of the coined caseband, typical feature of Breguet’s classic and complicated timepieces, giving it a nice details. It also has a rotating bezel, allowing an easy time measurement.

The black dial features tritium painted Arabic numerals paired with a tritium filled syringe hands and lollipop chronograph second hand. It has three chronograph register.

The example we have here is a first series production with some minor difference in the details. The first series Breguet 3800 features a gold cap on the crown, unidirectional rotating bezel and a 200m water resistance, as opposed t0 the 100m of the later ones.

Powering the Type XX is the Beguet Cal. 582 based on the Lemania 1350. It is an automatic flyback chronograph movement with 48 hours power reserve.
