The 5905 was introduced during Basel World 2015 as the successor of the highly successful reference 5960. Just like the 5960, it features Annual Calendar (a complication that was invented by Patek Philippe) and Flyback Chronograph.

In 2021, Patek Philippe introduced the Stainless Steel version with an integrated bracelet.

It has a contemporary 42mm case diameter with an entirely polished case, convex bezel and rectangular pushers. The bracelet is a 3-link stainless steel bracelet with a brushed center.

The dial is sunburst olive green color. It has three window displaying the day, date and month between 10 to 2 and a chronograph minute counter at 6.

The 5905 is powered by the Cal. CH 28-520 QA 24H automatic flyback chronograph movement with annual calendar module on top.
