The World Time is a Patek Philippe icon that often overlooked. It has an over 90 years of history, dating back to the 1930s when Louis Cottier created a watch movement with a capability to show 24 different timezone at the same time.
The reference 5230 was released during Basel World in 2016 as a successor to the previous reference 5130. The main difference is the case design that features a sharper and more angular bezel with a winglet-style lugs, taking inspiration from the important reference 2523 World Time from the 1950s.
The case measures at 38.5mm in diameter with 10mm thickness in 18K White Gold.
The dial features an intricate multi pattern guilloche center in grey. It is bordered by the 24 hour ring and the city ring displaying all the 24 different timezone on earth.
Powering the 5230 is the Cal. 240HU automatic movement with micro rotor.
