The Cartier Monopoussoir is highly synonymous with the Tortue case, first reintroduced in the 1990s and also recently in 2024. However in the early 2000s, Cartier introduced a Tank Monopoussoir, made as a 100 piece limited edition each in 18K Rose Gold and 18K White Gold.
The case measures at 34mm wide, 43mm long and 9mm thick. It is very masculine with its squarish shape, distinct bevels and thick lugs. The crown that works as the chronograph pusher is set with a faceted blue sapphire.
The dial is very familiar with a rosette guilloche radiating from the center of the dial, with printed Roman Numerals in black, railroad style minute track and two-registers at 3 and 9 all these pairs with a blued steel Breguet hands.
Powering the Tank Monopoussoir is the Cal. 045MC that was developed by the THA Èbauche, a movement manufacture founded in 1996 by three of the biggest name in the independent watchmaking today, Vianney Halter, Denis Flageollet of De Bethune and Francois Paul Journe.
