First introduced in 1955, the GMT-Master was made for Pilot and intercontinental travelers in mind. It’s the first wristwatch that has the capability to show two timezone simultaneously, one timezone is the local time and another one is the home time in 24 hour format.
In 2005, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GMT-Master, Rolex introduced the GMT-Master II in 18K Yellow Gold with a striking green dial. For the first time it features a black Cerachrom bezel, a departure from the classic aluminum bezel insert.
It is powered by the Cal. 3186 self-winding movement that is used until 2018.
