Introduced in 2014, the Patek Philippe 5990/1A Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph replacing the iconic 5980/1A Nautilus Chronograph. For the first time it features a combination of Patek Philippe’s Travel Time complication with its automatic Flyback Chronograph in Stainless Steel with Grey Dial. In 2022 Patek Philippe replaced this model with the newer blue dial version with an updated clasp.
The case measures at 40.5mm in diameter with 12.5mm thickness in Stainless Steel. The iconic Gerald Genta designed case has a rounded octagonal shape of its bezel and the ingenious porthole construction of its case. The chronograph pushers are well integrated at 2 and 4 o’clock position. And the two travel time pushers at 9 cleverly placed a the hinge of the case.
The dial is horizontally embossed with sunburst blue grey with black-gradient rim. It has date indicator at 12, 60 minute chronograph counter at 6 and two small window for local and home time day/night indicator.
It is powered by the Cal. CH 28-520 C FUS with a vertical clutch column-wheel chronograph self-winding movement. This allows the chronograph to be kept running without affecting the accuracy of the time keeping.
