Debuted in 1997, the Aquanaut is a casual sports watch on a rubber strap with a case design that is derived from the Nautilus. It was aimed for younger clientele that wants a true Patek Philippe quality in a sports watch.
The Aquanaut has evolved ever since, now with integrated rubber strap, larger case and even with complications.
In the same spirit from the time it was launched in 1997, in 2018 Patek Philippe introduced the reference 5968A Aquanaut Chronograph. It features Patek Philippe’s in-house automatic chronograph and a bright orange strap and hands.
The case measures at 42mm wide with 12mm thickness. It has two traditionally placed chronograph pushers at 2 and 4. And it comes with two straps : orange and black rubber straps.
The dial is black to brown gradient embossed with a grenade pattern. It has a traditional date window at 3 and chronograph counter at 6 with orange accents and hands.
It is powered by the Cal. CH 28-520 C/522 Self-winding movement with flyback chronograph complication, that is Patek Philippe’s first in-house automatic chronograph movement.
