Founded in 2004 by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, Greubel Forsey is well known for its extravagantly designed watches with complication to achieve chronometric performance, mostly with their inclined tourbillon.
Introduced in 2015, the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Vision had the smallest diameter at 43.5mm and the thinnest with 13.65mm profile (16mm including the sapphire dome at the back) with a completely round case in Platinum.
This “Execution Speciale” has an elegant dial made of bronze with engraved indexes filled with blue “oven fired” enamel paired with blue skeletonised dauphine hands.
The tourbillon is visible through an aperture on the dial at 9 o’clock. The distinctive arched and black polished tourbillon bridge is finished to the highest level. It performs a full rotation in 24 seconds - hence the name. And at the back, the domed sapphire crystal was placed to accommodate the 25-degree inclined tourbillon.
The Cal. GF01r consists of 293 parts with 86 parts being the tourbillon assembly alone. The bridges are frosted with high polished crisp bevels. It has a 72-hours power reserve indicator and a “Numero - No 1” plate. The details are superb with the high polished gold chatons and the black PVD-treated motor wheel with relief engraving.
