Blancpain 5395 Perpetual Calendar

$0.00
sold out

Sold under Gross Margin Scheme

In 1981, Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet purchased the right to “Blancpain” with a goal to bring back the glory of traditional Swiss watchmaking to the historic manufacture name. The first watch released was a complete calendar reference 6595 (34mm) and 6395 (26mm), it set a record as having the smallest complete calendar moon phase plate of any watch in history.

In 1986, this reference 5395 Perpetual Calendar was introduced. Notably introduced one year after Patek Philippe introduced its 3940 Perpetual Calendar. This is considered one of the “Six Masterpieces” released by Blancpain in their early days.

The case measures at a classic 34mm diameter with 9mm thickness in 18K Yellow Gold. It is paired with a white dial with applied Roman numerals featuring three indicator displaying date, day of the week and month at 12, 3 and 9 respectively and a moon phase indicator at 6. This is the earliest model with the leap year indicator on the dial.

It is powered by the Cal. 95 ultra thin self-winding movement with a 53 perpetual calendar module.
