The Zeitwerk is the first mechanical wristwatch showing the time with digital display with jumping hour and minutes. To power 1608 jumps in 24 hours, the movement is fitted with a very thick mainspring to produce and support enough torque needed for the jumps, and a remontoire that can deliver an equal torque every minute to create the disc jump.
In 2022, Lange updated the Zeitwerk with the second generation based on the same movement that was used for both the Zeitwerk Date and Zeitwerk Lumen.
This Platinum version measures at 41.9mm in diameter with 12.2mm thick profile. And it features a quickset corrector for the hour at 4.
It has a more restrained silver dial and it is updated with a more streamlined bridges for the time display and larger seconds register at 6 giving the dial a well balancer proportion.
Powering this second generation Zeitwerk is the Cal. L043.6 consisting of 451 parts with 72 hours power reserve. A visually visible update is on its remontoire bridge, that is now laid out very elegantly in a straight line. All these and it is obviously hand finished beautifully as one could expect in any Lange watches.
