The CK2998 is a modern interpretation of the iconic reference CK2998 made as a 2998 pieces limited edition in 2016. The original CK2998 was the second Speedmaster reference and was the first Speedmaster that was actually used for space missions.
It has many cues to the original model with its “Alpha” hands, Base 1000 tachymetre bezel, with Dot Over Ninety and “lollipop” chronograph second hand.
The case measures at 39.7mm in diameter with a 14mm thickness due to the boxed sapphire crystal. It has a blue ceramic bezel with Super-LumiNova rolled tachymeter scale.
The dial is white with blue outer ring and sub dials. It features the applied Omega logo paired with Alpha style hands.
Underneath the case back with the Speedmaster medallion is the Cal. 1861 hand-wound movement based on the legendary Cal. 861 that has been used by Omega for the Speedmaster since 1968.
