Sold under Gross Margin Scheme
The World Time, a complication invented by Louis Cottier in the 1930s with a capability to show 24 different timezone at the same time. The Patek Philippe World Time is an icon that is often overlooked.
The 5230/5231 is the current version of the World Time with some design cues from the legendary reference 2523 from the 1950s. It measures at a classic 38.5mm with just around 10mm thick and it has a winglet style lugs with prominent bevel.
The 5231J was first introduced in 2019, it has a Grand Feu cloissone enamel dial center depicting Europe, Africa and the Americas. It is a very complex and tedious process. The outlines of the continents are marked off with a thin gold wire then filled with various enamel colors reproducing the oceans and land masses while repeatedly firing the enameled dial plate at high temperature in a kiln.
Just like its predecessor, the 5231J is powered by Patek Philippe’s Cal. 240 HU (Heure Universelle) with micro-rotor and an easy to use adjuster at 10.
