MB&F first launched the Horological Machine in 2007, and the original idea was to present traditional watchmaking of the highest craftsmanship to be deconstructed into futuristic and unconventional Horological Machines with sculpted, three dimensional case with themes and inspiration from sci-fi movies, aviations, automotive, animals as well as architecture.
The Horological Machine 10, literally meaning it’s the 10th Horological Machine, is nicknamed “Bulldog” for its rounded, compact body with flexible “legs”.
The case measures at 54 × 45mm with 24mm total thickness due to its large dome in Grade 5 Titanium. The “legs” / lugs are hinged and will adjust to the wearer’s wrist. On the pivot of the hind legs are the crown, one for time setting and the other one for winding. The case is mostly brushed with polished edges and details.
The HM10 has two large domed sapphire crystal, one on the front and the other at the back. The one on the front displays the time with two blue half-spheres with MB&F’s distinctive polished bridges holding the bespoke 14mm flying balance wheel.
The other domed sapphire crystal at the back reveals a massive hinged jaw that indicate the power reserve by opening or closing. Underneath it showcases the barrel ratchet wheel and part of the bridges with ruthenium-plated finish with finely executed Geneva stripes.
