The Prestige HM was Romain Gauthier’s first watch, launched in 2007. Highly distinctive with its minimalistic look, displaying only hour and minutes with an off center dial and lacking of a traditional crown on the side of the case. It was then followed up by the HMS in 2021 with the main difference being an addition of the second counter.
This reference MON0007 is crafted in Platinum with 41mm diameter and 12mm thick profile. It features a unique winding mechanism, a flat case back crown giving the case an incredibly clean look. Despite its simplicity the case is complex with a combination of concave and convex facets with welded lugs.
The blue dial is multi-layered with an off-center display framed by a hand decorated “Clous de Paris” guilloche pattern. The bottom half of the dial is semi openworked, exposing the mechanism including the seconds wheel and the balance wheel with its escapement. On top of that there is an arc overlapping the main time display that indicates the running second.
Powering the HMS is the Cal. HMS2206 Hand Wound movement that was developed, produced, decorated, assembled and regulated in house in Vallée de Joux. It is comprised of 128 components with a 60 hour power reserve. The bridges are frosted with dramatic anglage, a hallmark of superlative hand finishing, even on the sharp angles.
