In 1904, Louis Cartier created a watch by the request of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont. He requested a watch for him to be able to tell the time while flying. It leads to the birth of one of the first wristwatch ever made and what becomes one of the most recognizable watch from Cartier.
For the first time Cartier introduced the Santos in Titanium with bead blasted finish paired with an integrated bracelet featuring the “QuickSwitch” system for easy bracelet/strap change. It measures at 39.8mm wide with a relatively slim 9mm profile.
The dial is classic Cartier with Roman numerals hour marker with “railroad” track with a set of blued hands. There’s also a useful date window at 6.
It is powered by the Cal. 1847 MC automatic movement with 36 hour power reserve.
