In 2017, Omega celebrated the 60th anniversary of not just one but three iconic watches, the Speedmaster, the Seamaster and the Railmaster. To commemorate it, Omega launched a faithful re-issue to the original model made 60 years earlier.
Prior to become known as the “Moonwatch”, the Speedmaster was originally designed for motorsport for its chronograph complication and its external tachymeter bezel
The Speedmaster is an almost identical replica to the original reference CK2915. It measures at 38.6mm in diameter with 14mm thickness (including the domed hesalite crystal). It features a Stainless Steel bezel with tachymeter scale.
The dial is faithful to the original, it has a matte off-black color with warm colored luminous indexes to emulate the vintage look. It has the signature steel “Broad-Arrow” hour hand paired with an alpha minute hand. It also has an applied Omega logo.
Powering the watch is the trusty Cal. 1861 Hand Wound chronograph movement that has been used since 1996.
