The story of Vacheron Constantin’s sports watch began in the 1977, the same decade Audemars Piguet introduced their Royal Oak and Patek Philippe introduced their Nautilus. It was designed by Jorg Hysek and it is called the 222, as it was created to celebrate Vacheron Constantin’s 222th anniversary.

The second generation Overseas Chronograph was launched in 2004 and was produced until 2016. It features a larger more contemporary case at 42.5mm in Stainless Steel with 12.5mm thick profile. It still retains distinct the distinct bezel and bracelet reminiscent of their Maltese cross logo.

The dial on this variant is silver guilloche patterned with three register and retaining the big date indicator at 12.

Underneath the decorated case back is the in-house antimagnetic Cal. 1137 self-winding chronograph movement.
