Panerai, a brand strongly associated to military watches, renowned for its oversized and distinctive case design and its luminous dials. The Radiomir that was originated in the 1930s, has a cushion shaped case with wire lugs.
In the early 2000s, Panerai introduced several Radiomir model in precious metals fitted with vintage movements. The PAM80 Radiomir Independent is a Limited Edition of 160 pieces from 2001.
The name Independent refers to the dead-beat seconds, a complication that makes the second hand ticks every second similar to quartz watch making it easier to read. It was originally used in scientific and regulator clock.
The PAM80 measures at 42mm in diameter and relatively thin at 11mm in thickness in 18K White Gold. It is paired with a sunburst blue dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, framed with the second/minute scale on the outermost part of the dial.
It is powered by the vintage Chezard Cal. 7400 movement beating at 18000 bah with 40 hour power reserve.
