The Ellipse is an iconic dress watch first introduced by Patek Philippe in 1968. It has an elliptical shape drawing inspiration from the “golden ratio” principle giving a beautiful proportion and a very well balanced and elegant appearance on the wrist.
The reference 5028G was produced between 1997 to 2003 and it is believed that fewer than 500 pieces were made.
It measures 36 × 31mm with a slim 6mm profile in 18K White Gold.
The reference 5028G has a unique dial that takes inspiration from the minimalist instrument cluster of vintage racing car. It is black in color with white printed numerals and minute track and an off-centered small seconds sub dial at 4. It is paired with a sleek white gold hands.
The nature of the slim profile was made possible by the legendary self-winding Cal. 240 PS that is only 2.5mm thick.
