The story of Vacheron Constantin’s sports watch began in the 1977, the same decade Audemars Piguet introduced their Royal Oak and Patek Philippe introduced their Nautilus. It was designed by Jorg Hysek and it is called the 222, as it was created to celebrate Vacheron Constantin’s 222th anniversary.
In 1996, Vacheron Constantin introduced another sports watch in their line up, called the Overseas. A watch aimed for global travelers that demand a high quality casual yet elegant timepiece. The Overseas design is distinct especially with a bezel reminiscent of their Maltese cross logo.

The white dial is the only version with guilloche finish. It features the Maltese logo at 12 and curved Vacheron Constantin branding just underneath.
The bracelet is integrated with three links with brushed finish and polished bevels. The buckle is Maltese cross shaped with a slide-lock clasp mechanism.
Powering this first generation Overseas is the Cal. 1311 self-winding movement, a COSC certified version of the ultra-flat automatic Girard-Perregaux 3100 featuring a quickset date.
