Sold under Gross Margin Scheme
Daniel Roth, a pioneer in the independent watchmaking scene, was one of if not the most talented watchmaker at his time, and he produced some of the most spectacular pieces between late 1980s to early 1990s.
Renowned for his work to revive Breguet in the 1970s-1980s and then established his own brand that created the finest watches in the 1990s that set the bar high for the other high-end Swiss watches.
Commemorating the manufacture’s 10th Anniversary, Daniel Roth created the Papillon (French for butterfly). It was named Papillon for its distinctive symmetric winged dial design. The Papillon was also a farewell as it was one of the last watches introduced before Daniel Roth’s departure from the brand in 2001. It is made as a limited edition of 250 piece; 110 in Rose Gold, 110 in White Gold and 30 in Platinum.
The case is distinct with its double-ellipse shaped case in 18K Rose Gold measuring at 38mm x 35mm with just over 10mm in thickness.
Despite its unique dial layout, the heavy influence from Breguet still can be seen clearly. It displays a jumping hour at 12 o’clock, a running second display at the center of the dial. The minute is indicated through an arc that stretches from 3 to 9 with a blued pointer pointing to the minute.
The Papillon is powered by a modified Girard Perregaux Cal. 3000 that has been finely polished and decorated with a solid gold rotor engraved “10 Years Daniel Roth XXX/110”
