The story of Vacheron Constantin’s sports watch began in the 1977, the same decade Audemars Piguet introduced their Royal Oak and Patek Philippe introduced their Nautilus. It was designed by Jorg Hysek and it is called the 222, as it was created to celebrate Vacheron Constantin’s 222th anniversary.
In March 2022, Vacheron Constantin revived the legendary 222 with a design faithful to the original with modern refinement.
It has a monobloc tonneau shaped case topped with a grooved bezel with integrated bracelet. It is decorated with a Maltese cross at 5 o’clock. It measures at 37mm in diameter with just under 8mm thickness in 18K yellow gold.
The dial is gold-toned with date window at 3 paired with applied indexes, simple yet sophisticated.
Powering the 222 is the Cal. 2455/2 self-winding movement with a slim profile of 3.6mm with 40 hour power reserve.
