The MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual, developed by MB&F together with Stephen McDonell. It is not only impressive visually by implementing open dial that shows off the gears and mechanism underneath but also innovative and designed to be frill free with some safety features that eliminate risk of damage for setting the calendar while the date is changing.
In 2021 MB&F introduced the EVO version of the Legacy Machine Perpetual. It features a new case profile and a specially developed monobolc shock-absorbing system called the “FlexRing”, dampening any vertical and horizontal shocks to protect the movement.
This Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO measures at 44mm in diameter with 17mm thick profile including its high domed sapphire crystal that accommodate the flying balance wheel at the center of the dial. The case is made of grade 5 Titanium and paired with an ice-blue dial plate.
Surrounding the iconic balance wheel floating above the center are four salts grey dials showing the time, date, day and month. It also has a retrograde leap-year indicator at 7 and power reserve indicator at 5. Each and every function can be independently adjusted by pressing the corrector on the side of the case.
The reverse side showcases the movement comprising of 581 components, a fully integrated manual-winding perpetual calendar movement designed by Stephen McDonell. The double barrel that can be seen at the back provides the movement with 72 hours power reserve. And the finish is gorgeously hand finished, as it is with other MB&F timepieces, with internal beveling, polished angles, large gold chatons, and Geneva stripes on the bridges.
