Ulysse Nardin introduced the Blast Tourbillon during the Geneva Watch Days in 2020. It is a very modern looking contemporary watch that combines an interesting case design, automatic tourbillon movement with a silicon escapement and hairspring.
The Blast Tourbillon is large at 45mm with a relatively slim 13mm height and integrated strap. The case is made of contrasting high-tech materials, in this one Titanium case with Blue Titanium bezel and detailing.
The movement is skeletonized and highlighted by the raised rectangular structure in the center and the large X shape that seems to be a popular design theme by Ulysse Nardin today.
It is powered by the Cal. UN-172 movement that is an evolution of the hand-wound Cal. UN-171 movement. It features a platinum micro-rotor, sillicon escapement wheel, anchor and balance spring.
