The Gronefeld brothers, Tim & Bart Gronefeld , are thirds generation watchmaker from the town of Oldenzaal in the Netherlands. After undergoing their studies, training and professional experience in Switzerland, they began making their now watches under their own name in 2008.
After the success of the 1941 Remontoire model, Gronefeld introduced their simplest timepiece to date , the 1941 Principia. It is named after their father’s birth year and Sir Isaac Newton’s studies on the “Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica”.
The case is identical to the Remontoire model, it is 39.5mm diameter with 10.5mm thickness in Stainless Steel. Despite its classic appearances, is very complex with partially concave bezel and beautifully carved multiple step lugs.
It features a soldi sterling silver dial with a fresh light blue dial with polished applied baton hour markers and blued hands.
At the back we can see the beautifully finished automatic movement that features a whopping 226-part with a uni-directional winding mechanism with a 22K solid gold rotor.
