Sold under Gross Margin Scheme
The Mare Nostrum (translated as “our sea”) is an unusual yet important in the history of Panerai. It was first designed in the 1940s as a prototype with a large 52mm case powered by Angelus chronograph movement.
In 1993 the Mare Nostrum was reintroduced with a smaller 42mm case making it much more wearable than the original prototype in the 1940s.
After the acquisition of Richemont, the Mare Nostrum was still produced but was slightly redesigned. It now has a beveled bezel with tachymeter scale and it has a more modern and cleaner dial layout giving it better legibility. It comes in 3 different dial color: white, blue and black.
It is powered by the ETA Cal. 2801-2 Hand Wound movement with a chronograph module by Dubois-Depraz.
