The Reverso was born in 1931, designed to withstand polo matches of British Army officers in India, recognizable with its rectangular reversible case with art-deco aesthetic.
Between the year 1991-2000, to commemorate Reverso’s 60th anniversary, Jaeger Lecoultre introduced a series of 6 Limited Edition Rose Gold Reverso in “Grande Taille” or medium size with different complications.
The Reverso Chronograph Retrograde was introduced in 1996. It is not talked about often but it actually preceded the Datograph as the first in-house manually wound chronograph post quartz crisis.
The dial is a typical Reverso dial, silver with guilloche pattern at the center with an applied JLC logo at 12, date window at 6 and an indicator at 5 showing wether or not the chronograph is running. When it is running it says "Marche" and when it stops it says "Arret".
The reverse side let us have a glance of the Cal. 829 chronograph movement with second counter taking the main stage on top and underneath it has a 30 minute retrograde chronograph counter.
The Cal. 829 was purposely built for this model and case, it is beautifully crafted and finished in 18K Rose Gold.
