Founded in 2004 by Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey, Greubel Forsey is well known for its extravagantly designed watches with complication to achieve chronometric performance, mostly with their inclined tourbillon.
In 2019 for the first time Greubel Forsey ventured into the world of sports watch, with their GMT Sport. It features a brand new case that is light weight with ergonomic design and a 100 meters water resistance.
The Balancier S follows up a year after in 2020 with the same case design as the GMT Sport, that is circular from above, yet it reveals a unique arched ovoid shape from other angle. The oval arched sapphire crystal follows the curvature of the case. It measures large at 43mm with a thick 13.75mm profile however it wears very well due to the nature of its curved case design.
It features a large balance wheel at 7 at a 30 degree incline for a superior chronometric performance. The double suspended arched bridge holding an inclined gear train and curved central hour and minute hands giving it a striking visual. Aside from those, it has useful display of the small second and power reserve indicator.
This piece unique has a plain bezel with brushed finish on top and mirror polished on the profile. And it has an orange dominated colorway from the tip of the hour and minute hand, minute markers, crown and rubber strap giving it an even more distinct and sporty look.
