A tourbillon is a mechanism that constantly rotates the balance wheel, balance spring and escapement while the movement is running, it is done to counter the effect of earth’s gravity on the on the accuracy of the movement. It is one of the most intricate complication to make therefore it is often used as a display of a high level of watchmaking.

Audemars Piguet name has been synonymous with tourbillon, as they were one of the earliest manufacture to create a series production wristwatch tourbillon with the reference 2870, that is also the first self-winding tourbillon ever made.

This reference 26396BC Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon has a 41mm case with complex construction crafted from 18K White Gold. It has a beautiful smoked blue “Grand Feu”enamel dial.

The Cal. 2950 with beautiful finish can be seen through the case back with its flying tourbillon visible from the dial side.
