SARU stands for Sapphire Ruby, it was essentially the gem-set version of the Rolex GMT Master. It was first introduced in 2006, one year after the ceramic bezel GMT was introduced.
It has its own unique reference 116759SARU , where 5 signifies the gem-set piece and 9 signifies that the piece is in white gold. The SARU bezel features 18 trapeze-cut rubies and sapphires each, 11 trapeze-cut diamonds and one triangle cut diamond for the 12 o clock hour marker.
